Fuerteventura offers fresh fish (pescado fresco). Grilled or fried on a hot plate (a la plancha), it is very popular. More juicy is the preparation “a la espalda”. Then the fish is cut open and lightly sautéed with herbs and garlic. The fish offer is very diverse. Various types of Brass (sama, dorada), hake (merluza), perch, sole (lenguado) and much more can be found in the menu.

A local specialty is the parrotfish (vieja). In addition, many seafood are offered. The local specialty is “Caldo de Pescado”, it is a typical fish stew of the coastal places. One of the most famous places to taste it is the ”Punta de Jandía” (Puertito de la Cruz).
